September 2021

Mark your calendars for November 4 at 6 pm when Impact 100 NYC will be hosting its official kick-off event for the 2022 grant cycle. The evening will provide a chance to meet other Impact 100 NYC members, introduce new members to our organization, and hear Christie Ko, Executive Director of Fiver Children's Foundation and recipient of our 2021 $100,000 Innovation Grant, describe the ways in which our member's generosity is impacting their organization. More details will be coming by email so keep an eye out.

Why wait until December when you can renew your membership now and secure your spot in our 2022 Grant Cycle. Go ahead, make our day!

We had over 120 nonprofits attend our Applicant Information Session on September 15, and will be accepting Letters of Inquiry starting on October 13. If you know a nonprofit that meets our eligibility criteria, please encourage them to apply. As a reminder, Impact 100 NYC accepts applications that propose an innovative new project or program, or a significant expansion of an existing proven program that will have a high impact or transformational effect on the NYC community. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations must operate within the five boroughs of New York City, have a budget of at least $500,000, and propose a project that targets underserved populations or promotes social change. Full Eligibility Criteria, Grant FAQs, and Application Process details are available on our website.

What is nextgen? Based on the Impact 100 NYC model, nextgen is transforming teens in grades 8-12 in our community into lifelong philanthropists through collective giving and collaboratively awarding grants to nonprofits in New York City. The concept is to have 100 teen members who each donate/raise $100; 100% of which is combined into a $10,000 grant awarded to one local, nonprofit organization. Know a teen who is interested in attending the kickoff event on October 3rd at 12pm? Click the button below.

We will also be hosting several "get to know us" events over the next few months where women can join (via zoom or in person), meet some of our Founding Members, and learn more about Impact 100 NYC. Feel free to come, bring a friend, or pass along this information to any women you think might be interested. Our first "get to know us" is being held via zoom on October 13 from 1:30 to 2 pm.

Thanks to all of the Impact 100 NYC and nextgen members who donated/delivered ties to George Jackson Academy's 6th grade entering class, marking their transition to middle school and embracing their new dress code. And thank you to those members who donated their time by participating in Fiver's summer job placement program and helping students prepare for interviews. Here is what one of our member's had to say:

Speaking with these rising Fiver juniors and seniors, I saw how impactful their Fiver experience is to their development over 8-9+ years. It is exciting to think that they will get to benefit from the Impact 100 NYC Serve Cabin we are building in time for their 2022 summer camp experience.

Looking for ways to get to know our grantees better? George Jackson Academy needs adult volunteers for a once-a-week commitment to help with lunch recess (11am-12pm). Please email Carrie Tatum at GJA if you are interested.

Impact 100 NYC is also still in need of volunteers to help with a range of activities including social media and technology. Email Nonprofit Relations if you want to get involved.
