July 2021

Hope you enjoyed the 4th and got to spend it with friends and families doing some of the things you loved and missed over these last 16 months. While July may seem quiet from a grant application perspective, it’s definitely not slow on other fronts. We’re busy working with our 2021 grant recipients to identify other ways that our organization and members can support them, and also planning for our 2022 grant cycle. We’re also busy looking for ways to get the Impact 100 NYC word out - to potential new members, corporate sponsors, the press, and other nonprofits. And we've finally got a few in person events planned so read on and try and come. Even better, bring a friend! They'll get to meet some of the other incredible women that are Impact 100 NYC members and learn firsthand about how we've come together to drive change in NYC.

What Our Grant Recipients Are Saying

“This grant will make possible a capital improvement to our camp that would have remained a dream if not for the women of Impact 100 NYC. We are thrilled to be able to build this space dedicated to our youth's success and know that it will continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of our young people for years to come.” Christie Ko, Executive Director, Fiver Children’s Foundation.

"We are so grateful to have been considered for such a high honor, and to receive a $15,000 gift was a wonderful surprise. And the boys are right: the teachers deserve the support. I’ve never worked with a smarter, more compassionate faculty. Thanks for allowing us to stay connected to Impact 100–consider your sisterhood part of our brotherhood! You are changing the world. Again, deeply honored."  Jay Underwood, Head of School, George Jackson Academy

"It was such a pleasure meeting you and the team. My thirty years of this organization’s mission has been a wonderful experience and especially meeting wonderful altruistic people like the Impact 100 members. I thank you for the grant support. I will continue to impact those who need a helping hand and offer hope and relief as we are able to." Thomas Neve, Founder and Executive Director, Reaching Out Community Services

"Thank you again for the support! It really does mean so much to us." Michael Pope, Executive Director, Youth Represent

July Jaunts

Come join us on July 28th from 5 to 8 p.m. for a “Drink & Draw Workshop” at The Bungalow at Brookfield Place, a hip, new waterfront spot located at 230 Vesey Street that will make you feel like you’re spending a summer day in Montauk. Please RSVP to Emily Ades prior to July 26th.

Feel like escaping the city for a day or are already out on Long Island? Come meet up with other Impact 100 NYC members from 2 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday July 27th for a fun filled afternoon/evening on the North Fork. We’ll begin with wine tasting at RGNY Vineyard followed by an early evening barbecue at a member's home in nearby Quogue. Cost of wine tasting is $57 per person. Don’t want to drive? We can help coordinate train or jitney service. Please RSVP to Jennifer Kasmin before July 24th so we can make sure to reserve a spot.

Keep the Good Going!

2021 operating budget grantee Reaching Out Community Services organizes a backpack distribution event each year and we will be there along with nextgen to make sure they reach this year's need of 900+ backpacks. You can learn more HERE or sponsor a backpack or two ($25 each) through this LINK.

Since founding, the women of Impact 100 have collectively given away more than $90 million in grants to transform their communities, with Impact 100 NYC giving away $147,000 in their first year during a pandemic. Imagine what we can do in year two. So why wait?! If you haven’t already done so, renew your membership now and be part of the 2022 grant process. By doing so, you’ll be empowering yourself and other members to be a transformational force in our NYC community.
