GETTING TO KNOW YOU

With Labor Day only a few weeks away, we are about to kick into high gear on both the membership and grant application fronts. A lot of important things will be happening in the next few weeks so be sure to read on and, if interested, find a way to lend a hand. We wanted to give a big shout out to everyone who attended our Bungalow event last month. It was great to put some more faces with member names and also get to know some potential new members. A special NYC shoutout to our members from Impact 100 Pensacola who made time to connect with us in person during their Big Apple visit.  Amazing things happen when women work together!

In year one, Impact 100 NYC awarded $147,000 in grants to help meet the needs of our city. Please JOIN/RENEW your membership now for our 2022 Grant Cycle so that together, we can continue to drive transformational change.

Want to multiply your impact? Host a Membership Info Session for any friends, family, and colleagues who you think might be interested in learning more. Info Sessions can be held in person or via Zoom and we will take care of all the heavy lifting. Email Membership if you'd like to find out more or sign up.

NONPROFIT APPLICANT INFORMATION SESSION

Spread the word! Impact 100 NYC is hosting its Nonprofit Applicant Information Session on September 15th at 10 AM via Zoom. If you know a nonprofit that is interested, please encourage them to sign up to attend. Impact 100 NYC accepts applications that propose an innovative new project or program, or a significant expansion of an existing proven program that will have a high impact or transformational effect on the NYC community. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations must operate within the five boroughs of New York City, have a budget of at least $500,000, and propose a project that targets underserved populations or promotes social change. Full Eligibility Criteria, Grant FAQs, and Application Process details are available on our website.

BOYS TIE DRIVE

George Jackson Academy welcomes all new sixth graders with a tie, part of their required uniform. If you have any new or gently used boys ties that you'd like to donate, in any color or pattern, please email nextgen to coordinate delivery.  Sorry but no adult ties or clip-ons. Deadline is August 30th.

MEMBER MEET UPS

Meet fellow Brooklynites and Brooklyn lovers on September 14th at 6:30 PM for cocktails and pizza on the roof of our amazing Founding Member, Dalia Darwish. Know someone who shares your passion for NYC and philanthropy? Feel free to invite them too! Dalia lives on 12th Street in Park Slope (exact location to be provided upon registration). This event can only accommodate 15 people so be sure to reserve your spot soon by emailing Events as soon as possible.

Grab a cup of coffee (and a friend!) and join your fellow Impact 100 NYC members at 9 AM on September 21st as we explore Little Island, NYC's most talked about new public space. Meet up location is the corner of 13th Street and the West Side Highway. Email Events if you're planning to attend so we make sure to reserve enough (free) tickets.

 FIVER UPDATES

We are speaking with Fiver about organizing a "ground breaking" ceremony at  Camp Fiver to kick off construction of the Serve Cabin. The camp is located in Poolville, NY, a 4.5 hour drive from Manhattan, so we'd probably make an overnight trip out of it. Possible dates include Saturday October 2nd in the afternoon or Sunday October 3rd in the morning. Please email Mindy if you're interested in joining.

Mark your calendars - The Big Learn, Impact 100 NYC's official kickoff event for the 2022 Grant Cycle, will be held on November 4th. We are excited to be planning an in-person event with a streamed option for those who can't attend. Details to follow.

MEMBERS IN ACTION

Impact 100 NYC members were out and about in the community this past month, with one group of members, nextgen members, and friends assembling desk chairs and art easels at George Jackson Academy and other members practicing zoom interviewing skills with high school participants at Fiver's weekly career building skills workshops. There are always opportunities to support our grantees. Email Nonprofit Relations if you want to help out with social media strategy, technology assistance, or get included on the mailing list for future volunteer opportunities.

Our Members' Directory is up and running. To access, sign into your Impact 100 NYC account and click on "Membership Directory" under the "Membership" tab. If you're already signed in, you can also follow this LINK.

Be sure to check out Impact 100 NYC's Member Only Facebook page to keep up on ways to connect with fellow Impact 100 NYC members regarding networking and philanthropic opportunities.
